Living permanently in caravan parks and mobile home parks is a lifestyle choice for many thousands of people. Some parks provide a range of facilities and services, and the village atmosphere can foster a feeling of camaraderie so often absent from other styles of living. Some parks are purely residential, but many will have a mix of residential, holiday and tourist accommodation and sites.

Residential Parks are an increasingly popular alternative for retirement, as Residential Park living frees up capital for investment purposes or lifestyle purchases, and many pensioners may also qualify for Government Rent Assistance for their park site.

Whilst still a fledgling industry in Victoria, a number of Residential Parks offer resort lifestyles which include proximity to shopping, medical and transport infrastructure. These parks may boast recreation and function rooms, bowls, BBQ's, social events, bus trips, craft groups, exercise classes and a host of other activities. Guests can stay with you and some parks even allow you to keep your much loved pet. Living is in a communal environment surrounded by others of similar age and interest, and you can safely go away on holidays with the park management continuing to look after the lawns while you are gone.

As you retain ownership of your home unit in the park, when the time comes to move, it can be sold or relocated to a new park - you can even leave it in your will!

There are a small number of parks in Victoria which are providing superior services as above, plus there are parks which simply allow persons to be a resident but do not provide the social facilities as described. The option is yours.
